The NFL trade deadline has passed, and some teams took big swings.

The Carolina Panthers were the first team to make moves, adding two cornerbacks to their cupboard of top-end defensive talent. The Los Angeles Rams made an even bigger splash by acquiring an eight-time Pro Bowler for their already vaunted defense.

So, when was the NFL trade deadline

Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. ET. Got that in the Google calendar? Good, now let’s review the football players who were on the move and making the transition to a new team.

Here is all the latest NFL trade news:

Deshaun Watson staying put at deadline

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson was not traded ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

Two teams were the most talked about when it came to Watson: the Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers.

Carolina rebuffed reports of any such trade pursuit with the Texans well ahead of the deadline and staked a double down investment on the Sam Darnold experiment.

The Dolphins, on the other hand, continued to mull the decision to pursue Watson much closer to the deadline. Owner Stephen Ross received permission to talk with Watson on Monday night, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Ross made the final decision to end the team’s pursuit.

Now, the Dolphins and Texans will face each other in Miami on Sunday. Both teams have 1-7 records heading into Week 9.

Chiefs bring in Melvin Ingram

The Kansas City Chiefs made a move to improve their defense by sending a sixth-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for Melvin Ingram III.

The pass rusher made three Pro Bowls during his nine-year stint with the Los Angeles Chargers before joining the Steelers on a one-year deal this past offseason. He played just 26% of Pittsburgh’s defensive snaps in their overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 24 and was ruled out for Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers reportedly were trying to trade Ingram out of the AFC but agreed to a deal with the Chiefs since the market didn’t materialize.

The Chiefs desperately needed some pass-rushing help. They have just 11 sacks through eight games, tied for second worst in the NFL. Three of those came in their 20-17 win over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. On the season, Ingram has one sack and 10 tackles.

Fletcher Cox stays with Eagles

Fletcher Cox is still with the only NFL team he’s ever played for.

Despite some trade chatter surrounding him and Eagles offensive lineman Andre Dillard leading up to the deadline, Cox posted a photo of himself in uniform with the caption “FOREVER PHILLY” prior to 4 p.m. ET.

The defensive lineman has been in Philadelphia since 2012 and has been named a Pro Bowler six times. He has one sack, 12 combined tackles and a touchdown this season.

The Eagles did sneak a trade in prior to the deadline. They will be receiving rookie CB Kary Vincent Jr. from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a sixth-round pick, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Chiefs send OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to Jets for TE Dan Brown

After making a bigger splash earlier in the day, the Chiefs made another transaction shortly before 4 p.m. ET.

The Chiefs and Jets did a one-for-one trade with offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif going to New York and tight end Dan Brown going to Kansas City. Duvernay-Tardif has not seen the field since 2019, while Brown has zero catches and one tackle on the season.

Browns holding onto Odell Beckham Jr.

The Cleveland Browns did not be deal Odell Beckham Jr. before Tuesday’s deadline. ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported that the team did not received any offers worth accepting.

Beckham is coming off arguably the worst full game of his NFL career. He had just one target, one catch and six yards as the Browns dropped a 15-10 home game to the Steelers. His father, Odell Beckham Sr., then posted an Instagram video Tuesday morning highlighting instances where Browns QB Baker Mayfield did not get his son the ball.

On the season, the Browns receiver has 17 receptions for 232 yards with zero touchdowns across six games.

49ers trade for pass rusher Omenihu from Texans

The San Francisco 49ers brought in some reinforcements for their defensive line on Tuesday, sending the Texans a future late-round draft pick for pass rusher Charles Omenihu. The former fifth-round pick has seven career sacks in 35 career games since entering the league in 2019. He has yet to record a sack in six games this season.

Von Miller headed to Rams

Eight-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Von Miller is headed to the City of Angels. The Los Angeles Rams have bolstered their defense in a NFL deadline deal with the Denver Broncos. Miller will pair up with Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey to terrorize opposing defenses.

The Broncos got back a second- and third-round 2022 NFL Draft pick from Los Angeles.

Mark Ingram traded back to New Orleans

It’s a reunion down in NOLA, as the Saints are bringing back former running back Mark Ingram, it was reported on Oct. 27. The 31-year-old was traded to the Saints from the Houston Texans.

Ingram, a Heisman winner in college with Alabama, previously played for the Saints from 2011-2018. In 106 games with New Orleans, Ingram ran for a total 6,007 yards -- the second-most in Saints’ history -- with 50 touchdowns.

This season, Ingram has 92 rushing attempts for 294 yards and a touchdown with Houston. His now former teammate Brandin Cooks was not happy with the announcement, but now reunited teammate Alvin Kamara was quite pleased with the news.

Joe Flacco reunites with New York Jets

With the injury to Zach Wilson, the Jets called on a familiar face for QB reinforcements, acquiring Joe Flacco from the Philadelphia Eagles

Flacco played last season for the Jets, starting in four out of his five appearances. He finished with an 0-4 record, completing a career-low 55.2% of his passes. It was the last time he saw action in an NFL game, as he did not see any action in Philadelphia despite being the active backup in all seven games.

He certainly isn’t the QB that took the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl, but he’s a veteran who has some familiarity with the Jets organization.

Zach Ertz traded to the Arizona Cardinals

The Philadelphia Eagles said goodbye to one of the most beloved Eagles in recent history as they sent Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals for cornerback Tay Gowan and a 2022 fifth-round draft pick on Oct 17.

With Dallas Goedert as the Eagles’ TE1, Ertz had just 18 receptions and two touchdowns in six games with the Eagles. The long-time Eagle played in 123 games over the span of about eight and a half seasons in Philadelphia. He finished his Eagles’ career with 579 catches for 6,267 yards and 38 touchdowns.

The trade paid off for Arizona in Week 7 when Ertz scored a touchdown in his first game in a Cardinal uniform.
