Nick Delpopolo – Men’s Judo – 73 kg -- Delpopolo trains in Opa Locka. He qualified for the 2012 Olympics in London but was sent home after testing positive for marijuana. He says he ate a pot brownie.
The judoka for Team USA hoped to erase the bad memories that fueled his run at redemption in Rio. He did not medal, but came pretty close on Monday.

Michael Phelps – Swimming. You may have heard of him. He’s the all-time Olympics leader in medals. He makes his Rio debut Monday in the 200 meter butterfly. He will look to add to his medal collection on Monday night. The preliminary heats will air live on NBC Sports at 12 p.m. ET. The semifinal is at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

Foluke Akinradewo – USA women’s Volleyball. The St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. graduate from Plantation graduated Pre-Med from Stanford and won a silver in London. She holds tri-citizenship with Canada, Nigeria and the USA. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker will help lead Team USA against the Netherlands at 2 p.m.
