Video from inside the store shows the man open the cage, stuff the bird in his pocket and creep away without being spotted.

The parrot is believed to be worth about $500, officials said. They say the suspect is not an ex-employee of the store.

The thief is said to be about 30 years old. Investigators urge witnesses to call Crime Stoppers with tips that could help them find the bird and the suspect.
