When authorities came to arrest a Plantation Key man for fraud, he grabbed an EpiPen from his pocket and stabbed himself in the neck, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said.
Cole Peacock, 21, had applied for a Citibank credit card under the fake business name Lockheed Martin IT, authorities said. He charged $18,801.67 on the card and then wrote three fraudulent checks to the bank, the sheriff's office said.
On the application, Peacock used the fake business name with his home address and cell phone number.
Before getting the sheriff's office involved, Citibank did its own investigation, authorities said.
When the deputies arrived to arrest Peacock on Wednesday, he pulled a plastic tube with a needle out of his pocket, authorities said.
At the time, they didn't know it was an EpiPen, the sheriff's office said.
Peacock pointed the needle at deputies as if to stab them, but then stabbed himself in the neck instead.

He was taken to Mariner's Hospital to be checked out before going to jail, the sheriff's office said.
He faces charges of fraud, grand theft, resisting arrest and assault. At this time, Peacock is being held in jail on bonds totaling $36,000, according to online jail records.
