If the Florida Highway Patrol has an IQ test as part of qualifying, how did Lisa Orshowitz ever earn a badge and a uniform?

The 36-year-old state trooper was arrested after she showed up to a South Florida courthouse drunk while still in uniform, authorities allege.

Orshowitz was driving her patrol car Tuesday morning when she struck a curb and blew out a tire. She stopped at the courthouse in Delray Beach and used a radio to call for help. Apparently, she never heard of Triple A.

According to her arrest affidavit, troopers said Orshowitz's words sounded slurred, her eyes were bloodshot and she was uneasy on her feet. The woman failed a sobriety test and was taken to jail on suspicion of DUI.

Orshowitz allegedly told police that she had taken an extra sleeping pill and that was the cause of her mumbling and stumbling.

We're sure she has heard that one from a motorist or two before.

She posted a $350 bail, but it's unclear if she will face disciplinary action from the Highway Patrol.
