Officials say a woman was gored in the eye by a deer at a Tampa Bay area wildlife sanctuary.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office reports that a woman called 911 Friday morning, saying that her 75-year-old sister had been injured at the Survival Outreach Sanctuary.
"My sister has been gored by a deer," the woman says in her first call to emergency officials.
She said the deer came at her sister and injured her eye, which is covered in blood.
On a second call to emergency officials, she says, "Her eye is hanging out."
"Is it completely out of the socket?" the dispatcher asks.

"Yes," replies the woman.
She also told dispatchers her sister had a gash on her arm.
An ambulance was sent to the sanctuary, but the injured woman's condition was not immediately available.
The deer has reportedly acted aggressively before. Ricky Miller, 21, told the Tampa Bay Times that the deer named Vinny backed his fiancee and her mother onto their porch and rubbed his antler on the ground last November. His fiancee's father had to grab the deer by the antlers and drag it back into the sanctuary, the Times reported.
Last week, a 150-pound female lion escaped its enclosure at the sanctuary and had to be tranquilized. According to the sanctuary's website, it houses large cats, wolf dogs and other wildlife.
