What's Open and What's Closed in South Florida After Irma

Hurricane Irma has passed South Florida and now businesses are working to rebuild so they can continue to serve their community. But this process will take some time. Below is a list of businesses and their current state:

Schools:

Miami-Dade Public Schools: Closed until further notice.

Broward County Public Schools: Will re-open Monday, September 18th.

Monroe County Public Schools: Closed until further notice.

Nova Southeastern University: All residential students can return to campus on Friday, September 15th at 8:00 a.m. Classes will resume on Monday, September 18th. Faculty and Staff are encouraged to return to work on September 15th. 

Our Lady of Lourdes Academy: Will re-open Monday, September 18th.

Archdiocese of Miami Schools: These locations are open as of Thursday, September 14.

St. Andrew School, Coral Springs

St. Bonaventure School, Davie

Nativity School, Hollywood

St. Coleman School, Pompano Beach

St. Rose of Lima School, Miami Shores

Miami-Dade College: Will re-open on Monday, September 18th. 

Broward College: Will re-open on Monday, September 18th.

Florida International University: To resume classes on Monday, September 18th.

Lynn University: To resume classes on Monday, September 18th.

Grocery/Retail Stores:

Publix: Most stores are open. Locations in Key Largo, 101437 Overseas Highway, and Marathon, 5407 Overseas Highway, were open Wednesday, though they were short staffed and not fully stocked. Click here for list of open stores.

Target: Some locations open - click here for list of open stores. 

Sedano’s: 20 stores open across South Florida. Click here and scroll down to 'Grocery Stores' for list of open stores.

Winn-Dixie: Most stores open. Click here for list of open stores.

Home Depot: Many stores are open. Click here for list of open stores.

Lowe’s: All stores open.

Fresh Market at City Place Doral: Open.

Whole Foods: The following locations are open: Aventura, Coral Gables, Coral Springs, Davie, Downtown Miami, Pompano Beach, North Miami, South Beach.

Government Services:

Miami-Dade County:

Animal Services: Open. 

Offices and Courthouses: Re-opening Monday, September 18th. 

Libraries: Open.

Parks: Select centers and parks are open as of Thursday. Click this link for complete list.

PortMiami: Open.

Transit: Metrorail is running, Metrobus is running but delays expected. Metromover is not in service. 

Waste Collection: Residential garbage service is operating as normal. 

City of Hialeah: All facilites, programs and events closed until further notice.

Broward County:

Courts: Will re-open on Monday, September 18th.

Animal Care: Closed Monday, September 11th.

Libraries: Closed until further notice.

Transit: All transit services are suspended until further notice.

Tri-Rail: Suspended until further notice.

Trash Collection: Suspended until further notice.

Hospitals:

Cleveland Clinic: Cleveland Clinic Florida's main campus in Weston will resume normal operations on Tuesday, September 12th.

Mercy Hospital: Has re-opened.

Baptist Health: Hospitals and Emergency rooms are open, except for Fishermen's Community Hospital and Mariners Hospital. Many, not all Urgent Care and Medical Plaza facilities have re-opened. A complete list of open and closed facilities can be found here.

Jackson Health Systems: All hospitals and emergency rooms are open. The following facilities are closed due to power outages: The urgent care centers in Keystone Point and Country Walk, North Dade Health Center, Jefferson Reaves, Sr. Health Center and Prevention, Education and Treatment Center.

Kendall Regional Hospital: Open.

Memorial Healthcare System: All hospitals remain open. More details on closures of specific facilities can be found here

Transportation:

Miami International Airport: Open. Check with your airline prior to going to the airport. 

Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport: Open. Check with your airline prior to going to the airport. 

Palm Beach International Airport: Open and flights are being scheduled.

Key West International Airport: Closed to commercial and general aviation. Only emergency response flights will fly in and out. 

PortMiami: Open. 

Port Everglades: Open.

Uber: Uber has resumed operations in Miami-Dade as of 7 a.m. Tuesday. Uber operations in Broward resumed Monday night. 

Shopping Centers:

Aventura Mall: Open.

Brickell City Centre: Open.

Coral Square Mall: Open.

Dadeland Mall: Open.

Miami International Mall: Open.

Lincoln Road: Open.

The Falls: Open.

Shops at Merrick Park: Open.

Sawgrass Mills: Open.

CityPlace Doral: Open.

Dolphin Mall: Open.

Duffy's Sports Grill: Several Broward locations reopening Monday afternoon. Click this link for locations.

Casavana, Miami Lakes: Open.

Shula's II, Miami Lakes: Open.

Bellmont Spanish Restaurant: Open at 6:30 p.m.

Tap 42: All locations open on Tuesday with a limited menu. 

Bolay: Locatons in Pembroke Pines, Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens and Boca Raton will open during normal business hours Tuesday.

John the Baker Pizza: The Pembroke Pines location on N. Flamingo Road will be open starting at noon on Tuesday.

Sergio's: Doral location to open at 1 p.m on Tuesday. Other locations remain closed.

Restaurants at Downtown Doral: Most will open Tuesday at noon.

Pinon Grill: Boca Raton location remains closed.

Brimstone Woodfire Grill: Pembroke Pines, open at noon with limited menu. Doral, will re-open Wednesday at noon.

Grille 401: Ft. Lauderdale location to open at 5 p.m. with limited menu. 

Poke Bar: Coral Gables location open. 

BurgerFi: Following locations are open: Jupiter, CityPlace, Lauderdale by the Sea, Aventura, Hallandale, Sunrise, Doral, 17th St. Ft. Lauderdale, Boynton Beach, Trinity, Lighthouse Point, Weston, Wellington, Coral Springs (from 2pm - 8pm, then 11 am - 8pm)

Ortanique on the Mile: Will open at 5 p.m. for happy hour, 6 p.m. for dinner.

The Arketekt in Brickell: Will open for dinner Tuesday.

Maya's Grill on Lincoln Road: Will open at 3 p.m., offering free meals to first responders and uniformed officials through Sept. 15th.

Royal Pig Pub: Operating under normal hours.

Hooters: Sunrise, Pembroke Pines, Doral, Coral Way, Hialeah operating under special hours.

Lulu's Bait Shack: Ft. Lauderdale Beach location closed Tuesday.

Via Emilia 9 on Miami Beach: Open on Tuesday.

Quinto La Huella: Open with a limited menu.

Spring Chicken: Has re-opened.

Swine Southern Table and Bar: Has re-opened.

Yard Bird Southern Table and Bar: Has re-opened.

Sweet Liberty Drinks & Supply Co.: Open.

Purdy Lounge: Open.

Cheeseburger Baby: Open.

Bulla: Both locations open with limited menus.

Pisco y Nazca: Both locations open with limited menus.

Beehive Kitchen in Cypress: Opening Wednesday.

Bonefish Grill: Coral Springs, Weston, Ft. Lauderdale, Kendall, Plantation, West Miami and Aventura open Wednesday. Hours vary by location. 

Pollo Tropical: Most locations are open, however many will have special hours and a limited menu.

Bokamper's: Locations in Miramar and Fort Lauderdale are open, while Plantation remains closed.

Theme Parks/Museums:

Jungle Island: Closed until further notice.

Vizcaya Museum: Closed.

HistoryMiami Museum: Closed.

Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science: Has re-opened.

Sky Zone Doral: Open.

Pod22: Open.

Miami Children's Museum: Has re-opened.

Banks:

City National Bank of Florida: The following locations are open: Bird Road, Brickell, Coral Gables, Coral Springs, Doral, Flagler, Kendall, Galloway, 41st Street, Young Circle, South Beach, Hallandale, Delray, Boca Del Mar, Orlando and Winter Park.

Bank of America: Several locations open.
