Celeb Spotting in Miami

Find out who performed at Mansion and who’s selling a mansion in our little spot under the sun

SKIP TO MY LOU: Lou Gossett Jr. may be less than a decade away from octogenarian-ism but that doesn’t mean he’s too old to party. The 73-year-old threw a swinging soiree for himself on Friday, May 29 that included a Frederick’s of Hollywood lingerie fashion show. Joining the happy birthday bash was footballer Santana Moss, who turned 30 last week, and Wild On E!’s Cindy Taylor, who hosted the whole shebang.

ROW WITH IT, BABY: Sure, Beyonce has a super-famous hubby and a career that’s bigger than big. But Kelly Rowland has Mansion, the mid-grade Miami club that’s almost overdue for a makeover and name change. The former Destiny Child’s singer performed her single “Love Takes Over” at the nightspot on June 3. The song is currently number 2 on the Billboard Dance Airplay, which is code for stuff that weird kid in your office who still has a lip ring and plays with glow sticks listens to.

SOMETHING TO GOSSIP ABOUT: It may share its name with one of the last few letters of the alphabet, but the W in Fort Lauderdale managed to pull in an A-list crowd June 4th when it hosted its grand opening. Real life Gossip Girl couple Blake Lively and Penn Badgley hung out with power couple Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford at the hotel’s new Whiskey Blue lounge, which, just happens to be one of Gerber’s endeavors. We wonder if the sets double-dated prior at 954 Steak, too? Ha, like any of those people eat food.

THE HOUSE THAT SHE BANGS BUILT: Looks like new daddy Ricky Martin may officially be ready to shake his bon-bon somewhere other than Miami. While the Latin crooner hasn’t been to our little patch of sand in forever, he has, however decided to put his shack up for sale. The 7,535 square-foot house has everything from multiple gardens to a recording studio. You’ll have to be some kind of penny pincher to live la vida loca in this pad, though. He’s selling it to the tune of $11 million.
