Cars need not apply in downtown Miami today when the streets shut down to make way for self-propelled transportation only.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. not only does downtown Miami go green for travel, the area transforms into a street festival for the whole family with live music, green art exhibits, yoga, street performances, a bike clinic, face painting, balloon art and contests with prizes sure to get you from point A to B in a flash.
A dance competition for kids and adults will reward the best booty-shakers with six brand new bikes.
The event is a push from the mayor to promote community and pedestrian-friendly streets and bring people back to the heart of the city.
So, dust off that bicycle built for two, get in gear and go.
