10/15: Fashion Makes Miami Go ‘Round

Fashion, food, and 'bargain threads' love

WORK IT GIRL: Milan, Paris, and New York are always "in" when it comes to fashion, but for this week, it's Miami's time to shine. Rock Fashion Week Miami Beach and Elle magazine bring models workin' the hottest couture to the Eden Roc. The lineup du jour includes Lorie Lester, KRELwear, and fashion mogul Russell Simmons's Argyleculture at 10. Admission is free, but RSVP is a must. rockfashionwk@taraink.com. 7 P.M.

FOODIE LOVE: Sometimes food can be so good, you ponder marrying it (only for a second). Reconnect with your love for food at the Signature Chefs & Wine Extravaganza. Guests can do the meet-and-greet thing with 25 outstanding chefs, including two "Top Chef" contestants. All proceeds go to The March of Dimes, the host of the event. Does anybody else hear their bellies saying, "feed me?" 6-10 P.M.

JUNK IN THE TRUNK: No, not that kind of junk. Recessionistas and fashionistas alike can rejoice at the Awarehouse for this month's Trunk Threads, a "traveling pop-up store" of sorts featuring specialty priced items from 40-60 percent off from designers such as Rella Jewelry, Rachael's Vintage '80s Wear, Suzanne Dunn, Deluz, Gaia Earth + Water, and more. Added bonus: cocktails. It's like the Holy Grail of bargain shopping, so rejoice! 6-10 P.M.
