8/13: Pour Some '80s on Us

Hair bands, blingy baubles and beach babes on the big screen

DEF JAM: We'd give our left arm to be in Def Leppard. Well, at least back in the day. Now, not so much. But we're up for a night of reminiscing, and if you are too, head to the Cruzan Amphitheater where they'll be playing with fellow '80s hair legends Poison and Cheap Trick. 7 P.M.

SERENITY NOW!: We're not sure why the debut of a new Lamborghini and a jewelry collection called the "Opportunist" is happening at a weekly event called Serenity Thursdays, but we're going with it. After all, nothing says Miami better than fast cars and bling at a swanky SoBe hotel. In this case, that would be The Setai. R.S.V.P. (mandatory) at chrissy@thegoldshovel.com. 9-11 P.M.

SUMMER CELLULOID: There was a time when Fort Lauderdale was the place to be during Spring Break - way before MTV started taking over sleepy beach towns and turning them into raucous dens of beer bong-infused debauchery. But we digress. As part of their Summer Film Series, The Wolfsonian screens the 1960 flick "Where the Boys Are," starring George Hamilton and Connie Francis. 7 P.M.
