8/8: Paradiso Found

Micmacs at Cinema Paradiso, karaoke at Titanic and late-night happy hour at Ra Sushi

FRENCH CONNECTION: We'll watch anything by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, director of "The City of Lost Children" and "Amelie." His latest is "Micmacs," the story of Bazil, whose misfortune involving weapons leads him to a junkyard gang of misfits with names like Elastic Girl and Mama Chow. The crew becomes his fam, and all together they set out to get revenge on those weapon-wielding punks who cramped his style. Cinema Paradiso, 8 P.M.

GIGANTIC PROPORTIONS: The clock is ticking on your 48-hour repose. Starting at 4 P.M., Titanic Restaurant & Brewery invites its guests for $1 off six house drafts and $3 to $3.50 microbrew pints. Four hours of liquid courage later, you’ll be ready to flex your vocal chords. After happy hour ends at 8 P.M., guests have an hour to prepare before Boogieman George takes the mic and passes it around during Titanic’s karaoke night. Karaoke starts at 9 P.M., one drink minimum.

PERSEVERE: When Titanic stops discounting your drinks, RA is here to pick up the slack. The sushi joint brought to you in South Miami, Pembroke Pines and Palm Beach Gardens offers a late night happy hour from 8 P.M. to midnight. When the clock strikes, the happy hour menu emerges and guests may enjoy discounted sake bombs, beer, liquor and mixed drinks. To soak up your liquid diet, turn the menu over for half-off sushi and appetizers.
