8/8: Miami's Ready for Its Closeup

A cast of Miami characters, a fair featuring local vendors and a DJ from Toronto

FIT TO PRINT: What would the classic '70s flick "Death Wish" look like if it had been filmed in Miami? Wonder no longer, because tonight "Death Print" will screen at The Colony Theater. The film stars all kinds of local characters, and even if the movie turns out to suck, there's always the afterparty, which happens at The Vagabond. Movie's at 8 P.M.

SAY CHEESE: Still going through Winter Music Conference withdrawal? Toronto-based Deadmau5 takes over Mansion  tonight with his intoxicating blend of electronic and progressive house beats. We're not sure what that sounds like, but if you've had a few g&ts, does it really matter? 11 P.M.

SHE'S CRAFTY: You love street fairs, but they're usually full of old ladies and soccer moms hawking knitted toilet paper holders and scrapbooking supplies. Not the case at the Art and Design Market and Lounge in Wynwood, where vendors include Sweat Records, local designers and Feverish Ice Cream. 4 P.M.-midnight.
