9/18: It's a Save Ferris Kind of Friday

Books & Books, Bueller Bueller, and the 'bond

BUELLER, BUELLER: Sometimes the unexpected, eventful summer adventures that get you in trouble are the ones you never forget. Come watch the "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"- type adventure, "No, No, Nanette," at the Broward Stage Door Theatre. The Tony Award-winning play follows the story of Jimmy Smith and all the trouble he gets into and out of on a summer weekend. Ahhh, the good ol' days of summer.  8 P.M.

BOOKS & BOOKS... & JAZZ: Just because it's Friday night doesn't mean you have to stand around at a club until your feet are blistered. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy your food and wine at Books & Books in Coral Gables as you listen to the cool, soothing music of Jazzilla. The jazz music trio plays everything from jazz-fusion to straight-ahead standards, with no commercial aspirations, so you'll definitely be hearing freedom in their music. What an ideal way to wind down after a long, hard workweek. 7-11 P.M.

VAGABOND KIND OF LIFE: It's Friday night, you just got paid, and you want to celebrate. We get it. That's why you should head down to The Vagabond, where Miami indie rock quartet Modernage will be playing. As an added bonus, there is no cover charge until 11 p.m., and $1 beers (gasp!) until midnight. Be ready to rock,  'cause it's going to be one of those nights. 10 P.M.
