Hotel Caters to Bookish Crowd With Kindles

The Four Seasons wants guests to get their ebook on while they sunbathe

Vacations go together with trashy gossip mags like a hound dog and an orangutan.

But even the most celeb-hungry sunbather can OD on John, Kate, and Tiger.

The Four Seasons in Brickell wants better for you and your brain cells, apparently, as the hotel just announced they'll be offering poolside Kindles to their guests.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to download that first novel by [insert talented young author here], as the ebooks are, according to the press release, "pre-loaded with 37 best-sellers and classics by literary luminaries including Dan Brown, Jane Austen and Bram Stoker."

Also loaded and ready to read are "Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin" and "Last Lion: The Fall and Rise of Ted Kennedy."

We're guessing the hotel was going for a "something-for-everyone" approach here.

"Our guests tend to enthusiastically embrace new technology," said Ricardo Acevedo, general manager. "With a relaxing Miami setting perfect for curling up with a good book, the decision to add Kindles to the poolside experience just seemed natural."

No word yet on whether or not the hotel will be offering a Kindle-inspired cocktail for the well-read set.

But the Melville Mojito has a nice ring to it.
