Pretty in Furs

Psychedelic Furs rock Revolution Live tonight

It’s kind of hard not to miss dancing to new wave. There was all the big, teased hair, awkward swaying and tear stained faces. Tonight you can have all of that and more when the Psychedelic Furs play at Revolution Live.

When their 1982 hit "Love My Way" starts playing, there will be feet moving and nostalgia flying. These guys are still touring, an impressive thirty years post inception, a worthy endevour for a beloved band. Eighties junkies can credit this British band for the title of John Hughes’ classic "Pretty In Pink." Hell, why not just credit them with inspiring a whole generation of Molly Ringwald lovers.

The Psychedelic Furs will be touring with another '80s group, Happy Mondays. These dudes have been produced by Tina Weymouth, formerly of the Talking Heads, and electronic maven Paul Oakenfold. If you mated Oakenfold and Weymouth's musical sounds, you’d get something along the lines of Happy Mondays.

Also on tour with sounds that survived the '80s is Islands, a project of Jamie Thompson and Nick Thorburn formerly of Unicorns. Part of the overwhelmingly popular contemporary Montreal music scene, these glam, melodic rockers are promoting their newest release on Anti Records, Vapours.

Check them out tonight at Revolution Live, the Fort Lauderdale, the doors open at 7 p.m.
