1/7: The Stage is Set

The Stage opens in the Design District, Afro-Peruvian beats at Grand Central and Eddie Griffin at the Hard Rock

SOUND OF MUSIC: It's the official opening weekend for Miami's newest and hottest venue. Miami meets New York with The Stage's rugged yet sophisticated look. It's the perfect spot for locals to gather to listen to and support local musicians. Tonight, it's Angela Laino followed by Stokeswood at midnight. 9 P.M.-2 A.M.

AFRO AWESOME: They probably won't bring llamas (sigh), but Novalima will bring their Afro-Peruvian beats to Grand Central tonight. Think reggae meets salsa meets hip-hop, and you've got an idea. 8 P.M.

UP FOR LAUGHS? You know him from "Undercover Brother," "Scary Movie 3" and many more films, but he's probably mostly known for his standup. Check out Eddie Griffin performing live all weekend long at the Improv-Seminole Paradise at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. 8 & 10:30 P.M.
