Big Apple Coming to Miami by Way of Los Angeles

Hot new restaurant moves into the old Snatch space

They say apples don’t fall too far from the tree. Let’s hope that’s the case with new eatery Apple Restaurant & Lounge.

The much talked about L.A. hotspot landed in Miami earlier this month in the old Snatch nightclub space. Nestled into Washington Avenue’s club land, the upscale eatery serves two purposes: dinner or drinks. Or, have a little of both. If it’s anything like it’s sister venue in L.A., the celebs should be flocking to the space for Chef Bryan Ogden’s fare, giving you plenty to look at while you savor and sip.

Like its uber healthy big sis, Apple’s menu focuses on local, organic ingredients and sustainable meats. Its Web site boasts, “Even the fruit juices from the bar will all be squeezed fresh from only the ripest fruit and vegetables.”

So order another Strawberry Maple Martini. Or how about the Kiwi & Cucumber? Feeling tropical? Let the Melon & Lychee Martini take you away for $15 a pop.

If wine is your poison of choice, the 40-person, dine-in wine cellar, which features more than 160 wines, is truly something to toast.

Hungry? Starters include a ceviche bar stocked with stone crabs, lobster and fresh local fish.

Pan Roasted Diver Scallops with a truffle vinaigrette are another way to start the evening, while Cedar Springs Colorado Lamb Koin with a side of Roasted Hen of the Woods Mushroom round out your main course.

Based on the L.A. fanfare and its promising intentions, it sounds like this Apple is ripe for the picking.
