The Beauty Beat: New Chanel Polish and More

Sparkle, spa and sweat this week.

Something new from Chanel, something new from The Spa and someone to hang with at Symbio. We can work with that.

BEAUTY: We’re fairly certain you’ve heard rumors of Chanel’s latest polish launch. Well, it’s finally here. And it’s fantastic. From the line dubbed Illusions, the new Le Vernis Nail Color in Graphite ($25) appears to be silver upon first glance. But when light reflects off the metallic paint, hues of pewter, gold, grey and green all radiant from the sparkles within. It’s a polish that looks like glitter but goes on smooth. Brilliant, Chanel. Just brilliant. But the sparkly goodness of Graphite isn’t all Chanel has to offer for its fall line. Our other favorite (aside from the shadow that matches Graphite’s hue) is the Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Braise ($28.50). The reddish-brown gloss is just as dazzling as the polish, and when applied to lips, it’s, well, irresistible. GET IT: Chanel, 9700 Collins Ave., Bal Harbour Shops; 305.868.0550.

SPA: Yes, summer in Miami is hot. Humid, actually. And with all this humidity, a little rain — or a lot — is inevitable. And rain, well, it puts a serious damper on getting that summer glow. Until now. The Spa at The Sports Club/LA comes to the rescue with two new treatments: Summer Glow Facial and Summer Body Glow. Through August, both 50-minute treatments will run you just under $100 ($99 to be exact) and include antioxidants to bring the good stuff back to your skin. From a pink grapefruit hydrating mask to a papaya pineapple moisturizing lotion, it’s a virtual tropical getaway at your friendly neighborhood spa — rain or shine. GET IT: The Spa at The Sports Club/LA at The Four Seasons Hotel and Tower, 1441 Brickell Ave., Miami; 305.533.1199.

GYM: Working out by yourself, it’s just alright. You pop on your iPod and get the job done. But running on the treadmill next to your bestie, that makes the workout go that much faster. And having a chat fest between reps beats your workout mix any day of the week. Symbio may not be ready for a B.F.F. invasion any day of the week, but it’s willing to turn the place over to friends who get along famously every Saturday. For free, too. Friends & Family Fitness Saturdays are for members only (talk about incentive to join). Your guest can even join in a group class gratis. And we all know it’s so much easier to gasp for air on the Elliptical with your best friend by your side. GET IT: 1815 Purdy Ave., Miami Beach; 786.228.5440.
