Diane Von Furstenberg might have a little competition these days when it comes to her wrap dresses - thanks to one local designer.
Downtown denizen and clothing designer Danittza Zimic has taken the flattering frock and produced a cheap chic collection of wrap dresses under her brand Mizmi.
And Miami girls can’t get enough of them.
“We literally sold out of them the first day we got them in,” said boutique owner Sandra Moreira, who owns Essence on Miracle Mile. “One customer even called me to say that she couldn't believe how many compliments she got the day she wore it.”
The wraps come in variety of styles and hues, such as colorful flowers, geometric shapes, painted brushstrokes and sexy tiger prints.
The knee skimming dresses retail for $79.
“My customers love her wraps,” said Marcella Prieto, owner of Cocoa Couture in Pinecrest. “They are affordable and you can wear them anywhere…I have clients who wear it to work and also to dinner.”
Several shops like M-M Couture in Kendall, Downtown Divas in Downtown, Metro in Miami Beach and Pink Blush on Bird Road carry the label.
This month, Zimicsaid she will be donating 10 percent of her sales to Miami-Dade Animal Services to help homeless dogs and cats.
So get a dress and help get a pooch or kitty adopted.
