Flood Watch Over in South Florida, But Rain Won't Stop

Winds could get up to 20-30 mph

It’s been another wet day across South Florida, with rain totals running anywhere from 2 to 4 inches across Miami-Dade and Broward counties in the last 48 hours.

Concentrated rain fell earlier Monday with standing water reported on the Overseas Highway just outside of Key Largo.

Otherwise, no widespread flooding has been reported, but some minor street flooding was still a concern in areas that picked up continual rainfall the past few days.

While the flood watch for South Florida ended at 8 o’clock Monday evening, rain showers are staying in the forecast.

The heaviest of the rain has now ended, and you can expect passing showers the rest of the night and into Tuesday on a strong ocean breeze.

The winds will also be a factor through midweek as they crank up to 20-30 mph on the beaches of the two-county area. Winds could be a little stronger as passing showers roll by.

Sunshine begins to work back into the forecast by midweek.
