South Florida Forecast: Only a Short Break From Rain

Highs will be in the mid-80s

Very few showers developed on Monday – the driest day in more than a week. But our “break” from the rains will be short-lived.

A large area of low pressure has developed in the western Caribbean Sea south of Cuba. Deep tropical moisture is streaming northbound and expected to deliver rain to the Florida Keys overnight and into metropolitan South Florida on Tuesday.

Thunderstorms are likely through Wednesday, with the best chance in the afternoons. High temperatures will not be as hot as Monday, when we reached 90, and will remain in the mid-80s.

The chance of rain will ramp down between Thursday and Friday, with more sunshine and warmer temperatures in store.
