Another day and another cold weather warning from your local meteorologist!
Thermometers Tuesday morning dove into the 30s in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Much of the area, the exception being the coast, was under a Freeze Warning through 9 AM due to the potential for readings in the lower 30s.
Northerly winds carried cold, arctic air into the Sunshine State. In fact, parts of northern Florida woke up to temperatures in the teens.
New record lows for December 28th were reached in parts of south Florida including: Fort Lauderdale, Key West, and West Palm Beach.
As high pressure moves eastward, winds will shift from north to east and temperatures will moderate, returning to "normal" by Thursday.
