Weather Forecast: Showers And Storms in South Florida Saturday

Periods of sunshine but showers and storms expected throughout the weekend

Showers and storms are expected in South Florida through the weekend as what's left of the dissipated Tropical Storm Chantal brings moisture to the area.

Rains Saturday was spotty but heavy, and Broward County fared the worst.

The National Weather Service issued an urban flood advisory until 11 p.m. Saturday for Broward County. The advisory includes the cities of Tamarac, Sunrise, Pompano Beach, Plantation, Margate, Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, Davie and Coral Springs.

A flash flood warning was also issued for Broward until 9 p.m. Saturday.

As of 6 p.m. Saturday, Weston, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Cooper City, Plantation and Pompano Beach had all picked up two or more inches of rain. Most of Broward County picked up between one to two inches of rainfall.

Hit or miss showers are expected through the day Saturday and Sunday. There'll be periods of sunshine, but showers and storms will be mixed in as well. High temperatures will be around 89.

The weather pattern starts to change by Monday, bringing rain chances down for the early start of the work week.

The next system could bring additional rainfall for Tuesday and Wednesday. Conditions really dry out and warm up by the end of the week.
