Showers and thunderstorms are back in the South Florida forecast Thursday and Friday as tropical moisture rapidly returned to the region overnight.
Locally heavy rains are possible throughout the day Thursday in the areas that see prolonged showers. Highs will be around 89.
Shower and storm chances carry into Friday with mostly cloudy skies. The weekend will bring a gradual improvement to the pattern with more sunshine expected by Sunday.
In the tropics, Tropical Depression 5 has formed off the coast of Africa as another area of disturbed weather moves through the northwest Caribbean. There are no threats to South Florida at this time.
