A man was arrested for murder after police said he allegedly stabbed another man to death in a Hialeah home.

Hialeah Police said officers arrived at the home in the 6300 block of West 16th Avenue before 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Once there, officers found the deceased man laying on a sofa. His identity wasn't released.

Police said William Carles, 44, had stabbed the victim with a switchblade while he was sleeping. After the attack, Carles changed his clothes, left the home and disposed of the weapon, police said.

The stabbing stemmed from a dispute over a woman, police said. The murder happened in a house multiple people rented and lived in.

Carles was charged with first-degree murder after he confessed to the crime, police said. He remained in Miami-Dade jail Tuesday night without bond.
