Niko Clemmons is an NBC6 nightside reporter who joined the station in December 2022. His news reports can be seen weeknights and weekend nights on NBC6.
Prior to his time in Tampa, Clemmons worked as a reporter at WVEC 13News Now in Norfolk, Virginia and WCJB TV20 in Gainesville, Florida.
Clemmons decided to become a journalist at the age of 21. His father having worked in media for many years may have led him to a career in broadcasting, but his passion for storytelling is what drives him.
Clemmons grew up in Newport News, Virginia and received his Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism in 2011 from Hampton University in Virginia.
For Clemmons, family and friends are important and he says his greatest professional achievement was working as a reporter in his hometown of Newport News, Virginia, where they had the chance to watch his TV reporting for several years.
Clemmons currently resides in North Miami and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering at his church every Sunday, running the video/social media ministry.
