The final debate between Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson and his challenger, Republican Gov. Rick Scott, is being cancelled.

CNN was trying to reschedule a debate that was postponed because of response to Hurricane Michael, but the network announced Wednesday that it pulled the plug when the candidates couldn't agree on a new date.

Nelson agreed to debate Oct. 21, the day before in-person early voting started in several Florida counties. Scott agreed to debate Oct. 25.

It was supposed to be the second of two debates before the Nov. 6 election, with the first coming earlier this month on NBC 6's sister station Telemundo 51.
