A man faced a Miami-Dade courtroom on Thursday, accused in a fatal shooting in Little Haiti over the weekend.

Peter Encalada, 33, faces a second-degree murder charge for allegedly killing Don McMillian, as well as an attempted second-degree murder charge over a victim who lived, Stephan Williams.

The fatal shooting occurred Sunday in the area of 5470 NW 1st Place.

Neighbors said that while a party ensued, arguing broke out and a fight followed. Gunshots then rang out across the neighborhood.

A judge denied him bond but Encalada argues he must be released to financially support his children. Encalada's lawyer will attempt to set conditions for Encalada's release until the start of his trial.
