Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet

After stumping with Barack Obama in his home state of California, Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger helps sell some of the president’s economic and energy initiatives Sunday morning.

Sunday evening, CBS’s “60 Minutes” airs a sit-down interview with the president himself – its second since he was elected last November.

Schwarzenegger, who called Obama “beautiful” Thursday, headlines NBC’s “Meet the Press,” along with Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose path to seek a third term was just cleared by the Justice Department.

Obama economic advisers stop by the other Sunday shows to try to explain again who in the administration knew what and when about the controversial AIG bonuses that have stirred so much public anger.

Christina Romer, chairwoman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, does double duty on CNN’s “State of the Union” and “Fox News Sunday.”

To counter her, CNN has booked Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), and Fox has Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.). And Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, also stops by Fox.

On CBS, Obama economic adviser Austan Goolsbee does “Face the Nation” with Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), chairman of the House Financial Services Committee – and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), whose suggestion that AIG executives might consider suicide topped the recent outrage over the bonuses.

ABC's "This Week," meanwhile, hosts Jared Bernstein, an economic adviser to Vice President Joe Biden and Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.).

On C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers,” House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) will be questioned by Susan Davis of The Wall Street Journal and Tory Newmyer of Roll Call.

Finally, on Bloomberg TV, host Al Hunt sits down on “Political Capital” with the Obama administration’s auto task force chief, Steve Rattner, to mull the future of Detroit’s Big Three automakers.
