Gov. Rick Scott's Senate campaign says he is stopping any campaign appearances while focusing on Hurricane Michael recovery.
The campaign issued a statement Monday saying campaign appearances could be halted right up to the Nov. 6 election, though Scott might go on the trial just ahead of the election.
Scott is challenging Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, who has also stopped campaigning for the moment while visiting Florida Panhandle communities in his official capacity.
A debate between the two on CNN was postponed because of the hurricane, but the Scott campaign said it has agreed to reschedule it for Oct. 25.
Just because Scott isn't doing political events, he is getting plenty of airtime with news coverage of the storm. That includes Monday, when Scott joined President Donald Trump to view hurricane damage.
