Broward Sheriff Scott Israel Discusses High-Speed Chase, Crash

A high-speed chase that began in Miami-Dade County ended with the suspect’s Mercedes sports utility vehicle broadsiding another Mercedes in an intersection at Griffin Road and U.S. 27 in west Broward County, Broward Sheriff Scott Israel said at a news conference. He said the other car’s female driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said the suspect died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
