Court Throws Out Florida Medical Malpractice Caps
Caps placed on how much money people can receive in cases where a doctor’s mistakes led to a patient’s death were declared unconstitutional by the Florida Supreme Court on Thursday. NBC6’s Willard Shepard spoke with Yenislecdys Gomez, whose daughter died as a result of a medical mistake. Gomez, who only received $100,00 in a settlement, said that even if she had received millions of dollars, she would give it all back just to see her daughter alive.
