Ex-Miami Beach Procurement Director in Bid-Rigging Scam: Officials

Gus Lopez, 52, faces 27 counts of money laundering and numerous other charges in a bid-rigging scam, according to authorities. Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle outlined the case against him, alleged accomplice Pierre Landrin and Lopez’s wife Maria Pinedra on Monday. Landrin worked with police, according to authorities, who released secretly recorded video of a conversation between him and Gus Lopez.
