Florida Ethics Commission Confirms David Rivera Accusations

The Florida Ethics Commission found probable cause that Rep. David Rivera, who is in a tight re-election race, committed 11 violations of ethics laws while he was a state legislator. Rivera said the allegations have already been dismissed by other authorities and said the commission only has jurisdiction over state officials, but the ethics panel said it has jurisdiction over him. Democratic challenger Joe Garcia said in a statement that “enough is enough.”
