Miramar Man Sentenced to Life in Prison in Girlfriend's Murder

Broward Judge Martin Bidwill sentenced Vernon Howard to life in prison Wednesday after accepting his second-degree murder plea in the July 2007 strangling death of his girlfriend, Linda Renee Innocent. The judge explained the reasons for his sentence in court.
