Principal Accused of Tampering With FCATs

The principal at a Little Havana charter school has been suspended as school officials investigate claims he tampered with the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. Ramz Academy principal Julio Carrera has been suspended without pay after he allegedly opened sealed FCAT booklets, took notes on questions and gave study guides to teachers, school attorney Carmen Calzon said Tuesday. Ramz Academy is investigating into the matter, and Carrera has been suspended “pending termination,” Calzon said. Carrera couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday.
