Redland Middle School Student Taken to Hospital After Getting Shot in Leg: Official

A Redland Middle School student was shot in the leg and taken by air to Miami Children’s Hospital Friday, a school district spokesman said. Police suspect that the gun may have been fired accidentally, Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokesman John Schuster said in a statement. Mother Tina Prioletti, student Megan McCormick and Miami-Dade Schools Police Sgt. Ivan Silva spoke about the incident.
