Some Students Need “Double Effort” To Catch Up: Miami-Dade College President

Miami-Dade College President Dr. Eduardo Padron spoke with NBC 6’s Diana Gonzalez at Education Nation Monday. “We find that about 74 percent of our incoming students, students who have a high school degree, are not prepared for college” with deficiencies in one or more subjects, Padron said. “So we need to put them through some kind of an intensive program for them to catch up so they are able to join the mainstream of academic life at the college.”
