Two men are in custody after a brief police pursuit ended in a collision in southwest Miami-Dade Wednesday morning, authorities said. Det. Alexandra Martinez and resident Johnny Todd spoke about the incident.

Two men are in custody after a brief police pursuit ended in a collision in southwest Miami-Dade Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The chase began after Pinecrest Police responded to a call of an occupied burglary around 9:30 a.m.

Police say a child reported seeing two men coming into his house and called 911. When officers arrived, they saw the two suspects get into a car being driven by a third man and take off, police said.

A pursuit began and quickly ended with a crash in the area of Southwest 97th Avenue and 184th Street in Palmetto Bay, Miami-Dade Police said.

Police say the men tried to run from the car but were quickly caught.

Footage showed a black sedan sandwiched between a white police pickup truck and a police car at the scene.

Police set up a perimeter in the area of Southwest 83rd Avenue and 183rd Street as a precaution.

The suspects, identified as Martray Williams, Dale Webster and Devoris Calvin, are career cariminals, police said. They're facing charges of burglary of an occupied residence.
