1 Killed, 1 Injured After Shooting at Park in Downtown Miami

Two people were hospitalized in serious condition after a shooting at Maurice A Ferré Park. NBC 6’s Julie Leonardi reports

One man was killed and another was hospitalized following a shooting at a park in downtown Miami Monday night.

The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. at Maurice A. Ferré Park in the 1000 block of Biscayne Boulevard, not far from FTX Arena.

Miami Police said officers responded and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.

One victim, a man in his 60s, died at the hospital while a second man remained in serious condition. Police did not release the identity of either victim.

Police described the gunman as a black male, possibly Hispanic, between 55 and 60 years old, who last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie with red logos on it and dark pants. He may possibly be armed and dangerous.

Officials haven't said what may have led to the shooting.
