No. 1 – Weather wise, a pleasant and dry Tuesday is in store for South Florida as all eyes remain focused on an active Atlantic Ocean with three named storms – including Tropical Storm Karen closing in on Puerto Rico. Keep your NBC 6 app handy for push alerts and First Alert Doppler 6000.
No. 2 - A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Puerto Rico late Monday, rousing and scaring many from their sleep in the U.S. territory. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck 49 miles off the island's northwest coast at a shallow depth of 6 miles.
Three aftershocks, of magnitude 4.7 and 4.6, hit within less than an hour in the same region at the same depth. Kiara Hernández, spokeswoman for the island's Emergency Management Agency, told The Associated Press that there were no immediate reports of damage and that there was no risk of tsunami.
No. 3 - A South Florida 8th grader was arrested last Thursday after threatening to shoot minorities in a group chat filled with classmates, police said.
The 13-year-old student, who attends Leewood K-8 Center in Kendall, is now facing one count of written threats to kill or cause bodily injury, according to an arrest report released Monday. The 8th grader wrote in the group chat on Wednesday that he hated minorities and did not care if they were oppressed.

No. 4 - The party is over for a boat that the U.S. Coast Guard said was operating illegally in South Florida.
The 45-foot vessel "Breaking the Habit" was busted Saturday for operating illegally near AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Coast Guard officials said. It was the second time within a month the vessel was discovered operating as an illegal charter, officials said.
No. 5 - Free agent NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is scheduled to be in a Miami courtroom on Tuesday for a civil suit claiming he trashed a multi-million dollar condo last year.
The owners of the Mansions at Acqualina sued the former New England Patriots player, claiming he caused $35,000 worth of damage – while another lawsuit from the same case claims Brown nearly hit a toddler and her grandfather with furniture that he threw out a window.
No. 6 - The texting while driving ban went into effect in Florida July 1st to "improve roadway safety” – and while some agencies have decided to only issue warnings until January, it is up to each agency to decide when they begin handing out tickets.
