Weather wise, we’re waking up to lows in the 50’s. Temperatures will reach the mid-70s this afternoon. Tonight, we can expect partly cloudy and lows in the upper 60s.

No. 1 – Gov. DeSantis to Hold Press Conference

Gov. Ron DeSantis is set to hold a press conference this afternoon from the Broward Sheriff Office headquarters. According to DeSantis, the statement is “on holding government officials accountable.”

No. 3 – Miami International Airport to Close a Terminal Early This Weekend

A concourse at Miami International Airport will be closing for half a day this weekend, due to the government shutdown. The concourse G TSA checkpoint will close beginning tomorrow at 1 p.m. The same schedule will remain in effect through Monday. Those set to fly out of Miami International Airport this weekend should check with their airlines for the latest information on their flights.

No. 2 – Day 21 of the Government Shutdown

Around 800,000 federal workers are bracing for their first missed paycheck since the government shutdown began. The check would have covered their previous two weeks of work.

No. 4 – Swim Advisory Remains in Effect

A swim advisory is still in effect for two beaches in Miami-Dade. Tests show high levels of fecal bacteria at Crandon South on Key Biscayne and North Shore on Miami Beach at 73rd Street and Collins Ave. Swimmers there are urged to stay out of the water at those beaches until further notice.

No. 5 – Free Flu Shots at Walmart

With flu season being in full swing, Walmart is hosting a wellness day this weekend. The retail giant is giving customers free flu shots and other health services. The event will be happening at Walmart stores nationwide tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

No. 6 – SUV Crashes Into Pastor’s Office at Hialeah Church

A pastor and his family are thankful no one got hurt after an SUV slammed straight into his office Thursday night at a church in Hialeah. The vehicle went inside Iglesia Bautista Estrella De Belen.
