Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Fort Lauderdale

NBC 6’s Bobby Brooks reports from Fort Lauderdale where a bicyclist was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver over the weekend.

Fort Lauderdale Police are looking for a car that they believe was connected to a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist dead last week.

According to police, 46-year-old Charles Blackledge was riding his bicycle Thursday evening when a speeding car struck him on Dixie Highway near Northeast 16th Court and kept going.

Blackledge was taken to the hospital but died as a result of his injuries.

Police released a photo of a gray or silver, 4-door vehicle of interest in connection with the crash.

A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
