Bond Reduction Request Denied for Woman In Fatal DUI Crash on Mother's Day

Shikenna Hasty’s request to have her bond lowered is denied at a hearing Thursday. Hasty is charged in a DUI crash that killed three people in Miami.

A Miami woman will not have her bond reduced in the case of a fatal DUI crash on Mother’s Day.

The attorney for Shikenna Hasty was asking to have her bond lowered from $120,000 to $10,000. That was denied by a judge Thursday morning.

Hasty admitted to having several drinks when she was involved in an accident on May 8th off NW 119th Street and 17th Avenue. Three people in the other vehicle all died, including the driver, Paul Menresa, Roger Castro, and his girlfriend Maricella Villafane. Hasty was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Two months after the crash, Hasty was in court were prosecutors said she was legally drunk and had marijuana in her system.

Hasty's trial is expected to begin in November.
