Campbell's Dolphins Make it Look Easy in Tennessee

Dan Campbell's head coaching debut went very well as Miami beat Tennessee 38-10

The Miami Dolphins had a strong showing in Dan Campbell's debut as interim head coach with a 38-10 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Campbell's team showed intensity from the start with a quick score. Part of the opening drive had a focus on the running game, which has been a weak spot for Miami. The ground attack was more formidable in the big victory.

Miami entered the game with three straight losses and a 1-3 record overall. The abysmal start to the year led to the dismissal of Joe Philbin. There were other coaching changes made as well in an effort to salvage this season. Its difficult for a team to reach the playoffs after such a slow start, but it is possible.

Lamar Miller led the aforementioned strong ground game with 113 yards and a rushing touchdown. Miller had been unproductive in the first four games as the team found difficulty in getting its running game going. It was clear quickly that Campbell and his coaching staff intends to change this mindset going forward. Establishing a running game will be critical to quarterback Ryan Tannehill's success as well.

Tannehill struggled once again with turnovers on Sunday and now has seven interceptions in his last three games. A pair of picks in this one was part of a 22-29 day for the QB with 266 yards overall. Tannehill threw two TD passes in the fourth quarter alone which were his only two of the day.

The defense stepped up in a big way with its finest game of the year. Cameron Wake who had been held without a sack through four games had four alone in the win. Wake also forced two fumbles.

Reshad Jones came away with a pick and returned it for a touchdown while also completing six tackles. That was not the only interception of the day for Miami as Brent Grimes came away with one of his own in the fourth quarter.

The Dolphins will head home next Sunday when they host the Houston Texans on Sunday at Sun Life Stadium.
