Car Owner Who Chased, Shot at Repo Man in Custody: Miami-Dade Police

A man was taken into custody after he chased and shot at a repo man who repossessed his car early Thursday, Miami-Dade Police said.

Colby Gonzalez had repossessed a 2007 Nissan Altima belonging to 31-year-old Max Kenneth Dieuveil in the 19800 block of Northeast 14th Avenue around 2 a.m. and had stopped at a gas station on Ives Dairy Road when Dieuveil arrived in a black Hummer and began shooting at Gonzalez, police said.

Gonzalez, 30, fled northbound on Interstate 95 as Dieuveil gave chase and continued to shoot at the repo man, police said. Gonzalez wasn't injured and officers were able to locate Dieuveil's Hummer and took him into custody without incident, police said.

Dieuveil was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, police said. It's unknown if he has an attorney.

After he was taken into custody, Dieuveil told police that he thought his car was being stolen, according to a police report.
