Car Strikes Fire Hydrant in Northwest Miami-Dade, Streets Flooded

It was a soggy mess for residents in one Miami-Dade neighborhood after a car hit a hydrant.

Crews responded after a car struck a fire hydrant that started spewing water in northwest Miami-Dade Thursday.

Miami-Dade Fire officials said they responded to the incident at Northwest 168th Street and 8th Avenue.

Footage showed water shooting out of the ground near the car and flooding nearby streets. Officials said there were no injuries.

Crews were able to turn the water off just before 8:30 p.m. and a tow truck removed the damaged car.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
