Coast Guard officials found a missing teen in the waters off John U. Lloyd State Park in Hollywood. The 15-year-old boy was pulled down by strong currents as he and his family were swimming to shore at about noon Monday, according to Hollywood Police. NBC 6’s Willard Shepard has the story.

The 15-year-old boy was pulled down by strong currents as he and his family were swimming to shore at about noon Monday, according to Hollywood Police.

Family members told police they saw a wave crash over the boy before he went missing for nearly three hours.

Broward Sheriff's Office marine and helicopter units assisted in the search.

Officials have not yet released the condition of the boy who was transported to Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital.
