NBC 6’s Ari Odzer has the details as the Coral Gables Police Department gets into the holiday spirit by surprising people they pulled over and stopped ont he street.
The Coral Gables Police Department got into the holiday spirit Tuesday by pulling people over and stopping others on the street.
But those that were stopped weren’t given tickets or citations. Instead, they received a random act of kindness in the form of a $100 gift card.
The gift cards were given to Coral Gables Police by an anonymous donor who asked the cards be given out over the holidays.
CGPD said officers distributed the gift cards at bus stops and other traffic stops. Officers also went to victims’ homes, families in need and others who are having trouble over the holiday weeks.
